India vs South Africa test highlights-Day 1, 1st Innings:
South Africa, batting 1st could score only 55 runs in 23.2 overs with all wickets down. Mohammad Siraj bagged 6 wickets while Jasprit Bumrah and Mukesh Kumar clinched 2 each. Indian bowlers devasted the 1st innings of South African batters, it was K. Verreynne who scored 15 runs which was the highest from the home team.

Though Indian batters got a good start, the middle-order batting crumbled without scoring a run and the scoreboard went from 153 for 5 wickets to 153 all out. Yet the run was enough to achieve a lead of 98 runs in a pitch with the unpredictability of extra bounce. Virat Kohli scored 46 runs, the highest run from the Indian side.

It’s not every day that 3rd inning starts on day 1 itself yet it just happened this time. South African batters lost 3 more wickets in the 1st day which added to the count of 23 wickets were fallen on a single day. South Africa ended the day 1, 2nd innings with 62 for 3 in the scoreboard.

South African Batters continued to bat from where they left on the 1st day but as wickets kept on falling, Aiden Markram played wonderfully but unfortunately didn’t find anyone that could have built a partnership. He single-handedly scored 106 runs while the South African side collapsed scoring 176 runs in the scoreboard and giving India a target of 78 runs.
From the Indian side, today Yashasvi Jaiswal started the game differently and started hitting shots from the very 1st ball. Though he had a short innings this time yet was able to score 28 runs being the highest scorer in the 2nd Innings from the Indian side. Rohit Sharma remained not out scoring 17 runs. India was able to put a total of 80 runs on the scoreboard losing 3 wickets. Shreyas Iyer played the winning shot. The trophy was shared by both the captains of the two Teams while Mohammad Siraj received the Player of the Match award.

This time the 5-day test match just ended on the 2nd day with a great win for India. It was the last time under Dhoni’s captainship in 2010-11 that India drew a Test Series against South Africa in their country. This has been the first time that India has won a Test Match in Cape Town. Yet every Indian cricket fan will have to wait for a Test Series win against South Africa in their native land.
