Indian Navy is now preparing to deploy guided-missile destroyer ships in the Arabian waters after the Japanese-owned chemical tanker “Chem Pluto” was attacked on the Indian off-coast.
The ship was in the southern part of the Red Sea and was heading towards India from Saudi Arabia. The incident took place within 200 nautical miles of the coast of India.
Indian Navy Response:
Indian Navy came into action after receiving a request call thereby sending an aircraft and warship to assist according to the need. The Navy has been investigating the attack and MV Chem Pluto being docked in Mumbai port. According to the Navy statement, the attack was made by drone, further investigating the technical aspects of the attack including types and amount of explosives used.
Rajnath Singh’s statement:
Indian Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh said in the commissioning ceremony of another guided missile destroyer ship in Mumbai, “India plays the role of a net security provider in the entire Indian Ocean region. We will ensure that maritime trade in this region rises from the sea to the heights of the sky.”
He further added, “India is now increasing its surveillance in the seas and strict action will taken against those found responsible for the attack.”
USA’s Allegations:
According to Washington, Iran is in deep connection with Houthi Rebels for the attacks on the commercial vessels in the Red Sea area.
Iran’s P.O.V:
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Al Bagheri dismissed the accusations made by the US stating “The resistance has its tools… and acts in accordance with its own decisions and capabilities”.
