Brief history of the Indian National Congress:
The INC was founded in the year 1885 under the presidentship of W.C. Banerjee and A.O.U as the general secretary. The party saw its first split in 1907 which led to the growth of the moderate and the extremist or radical leader. The moderate was led by Gopal Krishna Gokhale while Lala Lajpat Rai, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, and Bipin Chandra Pal were the leaders of the latter. At the Lucknow session in 1915, the conjunction of both the Moderate and the Radical leaders took place.

After returning from South Africa, Mahatma Gandhi also joined the Congress and made Mass Movements that initiated the struggle for independence. With the involvement of leaders like Subash Chandra Bose, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallavbhai Patel, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, B.R. Ambedkar, Dr. Rajendra Prasad with other personalities, India was able to attain its freedom in 1947 Though Subhash Chandra Bose withdrew his hands from the party in 1939 and formed the INA, which is another topic of discussion.
In the post-independence era, the party evolved with time and gave India major Prime Ministers like Jawarhal Nehru, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Indra Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, and Manmohan Singh.

The Congress Party organized the ” Hain Taiyyar Hum” Rally in Nagpur, Maharashtra on Thursday aiming to start the campaign for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on its 139th foundation day.
Rahul Gandhi’s Speech in the campaign:
Rahul Gandhi, in his speech, reminds the works of the Congress party and how the party unified the people of India during the Imperial Rule and fought for the inclusion and protection of the rights of people in the Indian subcontinent.
According to Rahul Gandhi, the fight between Congress and BJP is not just political rather there is a difference of ideologies between the two.
He slams the BJP saying that the party works under an authoritarian process, as a BJP MP who was previously in Congress told him that ‘gulami’ works in BJP while the Congress party always maintains the freedom of thought and speech at every level of the party workers so that even a junior party worker can question and disagree with the senior party leaders.
He also thrashes the present government raising the issues of unemployment which is the highest now in the last 40 years and criticized the Agniveer scheme claiming that 1,50,000 candidates who were selected earlier, lost their jobs because of it. Further raising the issues of lack of employment for OBC, SC & ST, he also vowed to make a caste-based census nationwide if comes into power in the 2024 General Elections.
Congress party is hoping that Rahul Gandhi’s Nyaya Yatra will bring them to help them win the upcoming elections and asks the people to stay close to the party for the next 100 days and support the party for its win.
