The “Pran Pratishtha” ceremony at Ram Temple at Ayodhya is planned to take place on the 22nd of January 2024. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the grand ceremony, as the ‘yajman’ (main host) that day. Many other dignitaries, including Bollywood celebrities and sportspersons, have also been invited to attend the event. Though the celebration of the holy occasion will start on Monday morning, the “Pran Pratishtha” ceremony is scheduled to begin after noon and continue for an hour. The temple will be open for ‘darshan’ for the general public from January 23.
Significance of Ayodhya Ram Mandir
The Ayodhya Ram Temple is one of the most important pilgrimage places for the Hindus as it is believed to be the birthplace (Janmabhoomi) of Lord Ram.

Who oversees the Ram temple?
Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra is the trust that manages the temple which has been created by the central government on the orders of the Supreme Court. The trust also looks after the construction of the temple, which has an area of 2.7 acres.

After reaching Ayodhya, one can avail of local transport options like auto-rickshaws and cycle rickshaws. The temple is located on the bank of the Sarayu River, enhancing the path of spiritual journey.
What are the Aarti timings?
The Ram Lalla Aarti is conducted three times a day:
6:30 am for Jagaran or Shringar Aarti,
12:00 pm for Bhog Aarti,
7:30 pm for Sandhya Aarti.
To attend the Aarti, devotees are required to have valid passes issued by the trust. A valid ID proof must be presented while acquiring the pass for the Aarti Darshan.
What are the Darshan timings?
The divine Darshan of Ram Lalla at the Ayodhya Ram Mandir is scheduled from 7:00 am to 11:30 am and from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Is there an entry fee for visiting the Ayodhya Ram Mandir?
Entry to the temple is free of cost. Only the people having passes will be allowed to attend the Aart that takes place thrice a day. The number of people has been limited to 30 who can attend each Aarti.
About the Ram Lalla Idol:
Karnataka-based sculptor, Arun Yogiraj has carved the idol. The new idol is made of black stone and weighs somewhere between 150-200kgs. The idol depicts the infant form of Lord Ram in standing posture and is hence named Ram Lalla. He is considered to be an Avatar of Vishnu.

At the four corners of the compound, there are four temples – dedicated to the Sun God, Goddess Bhagwati, Lord Ganesha and Lord Shiva.
On the northern side The temple of Maa Annapurna is situated and on the southern side lies The Temple of Hanumanji.
Other Construction Details of Ayodhya Ram Mandir:
The foundation of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir has been constructed with a 14-metre-thick layer of roller-compacted concrete (RCC)which was sub-distributed among 47-48 layers each layer having a thickness of 1 foot. The plinth of the Temple has been constructed using granite 21 feet thick brought from southern India.
The design of the temple has been done by the Sompuras according to the Vastu Shastra and the Shilpa Shastras. The temple is supposed to be 76 metres (250 ft) wide, 120 metres (380 ft) long and 49 metres (161 ft) high. It is the world’s third-largest Hindu temple which has been designed in the Gurjara-Chaulukya style of Nagara style architecture, a type of Hindu temple architecture found primarily in northern India.

The building will have a total of 366 columns with a staircase of width 16 feet (4.9 m). The sanctum sanctorum is octagonal. The temple is supposed to be built on 10 acres (0.040 km2), while 57 acres (0.23 km2) of land will be developed into a complex consisting of a prayer hall, a lecture hall, an educational facility and other facilities including a museum and a cafeteria.
There has been no use of iron and steel in the construction of the temple, and the fusing of the stone blocks has been done by using copper plates.

The temple is expected to emerge as a major religious and cultural centre, attracting pilgrims and tourists from all over the world.
