South African batters made a total of 408 runs in response. D. Elgar scored gigantic 185 runs though missed the chance of his double century while M Jansen made his half-century scoring 84 runs.

India somehow managed to score 131 with all batters down and was trailing by 163 runs ending with a loss by 32 runs. It was only Virat Kohli in the 2nd innings who stood alone and made 76 runs off 82 balls but got no support from the other end.
