From Tech Giant to Car Manufacturer:
Xiaomi now enters into the automobile industry revealing its initial electric car, The SU7, on December 28. Xiaomi EV, the company’s vehicle manufacturing division, disclosed additional insights into the SU7, compelling it as a strong competitor against leading electric cars globally.
Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun assures that the Xiaomi SU7 is not just designed for competition; rather, it will possess aesthetics and performance similar to that of renowned electric vehicles like the Tesla Model S. Production of the electric vehicle has already commenced, and is manufactured in Beijing at a facility owned by the Chinese carmaker BAIC Group.
Design And Dynamics:
The Xiaomi SU7 showcases a sporty design that resembles the Porsche Taycan. The visuals were released by the manufacturer which claims the SU7 is a luxurious sports car, sharing distinctive features with the renowned German auto company. The exterior colour theme has been Aqua Blue which enhanced its aesthetics, along with the inclusion of stylish alloy wheels.

Specifications and Features:
The four-door electric sedan has a length of 4,997 mm width of 1,963 mm, and 1,455 mm in height of up. The wheelbase of the vehicle is 3,000 mm. Based on the energy storage capacity of the batteries, Xiaomi plans to offer the SU7 in two configurations. Additionally, the car will have multiple versions with a wide range of power specifications.

Xiaomi aims to provide features like autonomous driving features with self-parking ability. With the incorporation of high-resolution cameras, advanced sensors, and radar the manufacturer showcased its self-driving technology. Lei ensures that the self-driving ability of the car will lead the industry in a new direction of driving.

Xiaomi SU7-Power Figures:
The base model of the Xiaomi SU7 will be equipped with a 73.6 kWh battery pack, while the premium variant gets a larger 101 kWh battery pack. Innovating its own CTB (Cell-to-Body) technology, Xiaomi now confirms seamless integration of the batteries into the vehicle. With advanced technology, the structural rigidity is increased reducing the height and resulting in a more spacious cabin.

Upcoming Vehicles :
The manufacturer also claims that the car is supposed to achieve 800 kilometers range. Xiaomi also plans to introduce another model, the V8, in 2025, based on a larger 150 kWh battery with an impressive range of 1,200 kilometers.
