India vs Afghanistan 2nd T20: India wins with (2-0) lead.

Match description:

The 2nd T-20 match was played between India and Afghanistan at Holkar stadium in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore. The pitch seemed very good for batters and a high-scoring match was observed with Afghanistan batters scoring 172 runs in 20 overs but Indian batters later dominated the match and made India win in just 15.4 overs, taking a lead of (2-0) in the series. With this win, India has already booked the trophy. Now it will be interesting to watch if India can white-wash the opposition.

India vs Afghanistan 2nd T20: The Toss-

It was again Rohit Sharma the skipper of the Indian Cricket Team who won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Afganistan Batting 1st :

At the initial stage, it seemed that the wickets had nothing for the bowlers as the Afghanistan batters maintained a run rate of around 10 runs per over till the power-play. It was expected that Afghanistan may reach the score of 200 but later with the dismissals made by the Indian bowlers and lack of partnership among the Afganistani batters Afganistan was restricted to 172 runs with all wickets down which is considered to be a respectable score for a T-20 match.

Gulbadin Naib made a wonderful half-century scoring 57 runs in just 35 balls. On the other hand, Arshdeep Singh was the highest wicket-taker from the Indian side clinching 3 wickets for himself and the team.

India in the chase :

Captain Rohit Sharma could not score a run in the India vs Afghanistan 2nd T20 also and was bowled out by Fazalhaq Farooqi in his 2nd ball. Though the young player Yashasvi Jaiswal took the command and scored 68 runs in just 34 balls, he was later accompanied by Shivam Dube, who scored 63 runs in 32 balls (not out).

India won the match in just 15.4 overs with 6 wickets remaining

Player of the Match :

In India vs Afghanistan 2nd T20 it was Axar Patel who received the Player of the Match award because of his excellent economy rate on the flat pitch and grabbing 2 wickets. In his 4-over spell, he just gave 17 runs with an economy of 4.25.

Eye for the whitewash:
With this win, India has already booked the trophy. Now it will be interesting to watch if India can white-wash the opposition.

Conclusion:

This series is considered to be very important before the T-20 World Cup as the Afghanistan team is a strong contender and winning against them would boost the confidence of the Indian Cricketers. Also, the young players have marvellously showcased their potential and it can be said that the future of Indian Cricket is in good hands. Overall we can say that India vs Afghanistan 2nd T20 was also a good match we enjoyed like the first one.
